BEAM DETECTOR

ALPHA 2000 END TO END BEAM DETECTOR

The SHIELD Alpha 2000 End to End infrared Optical Beam Smoke Detector (OBSD) has been designed using the latest optical technology, incorporating modern industrial, electronic and software techniques. This detector offers cost effective protection of large, open area spaces with high ceilings. It is also very suited to applications where access to ceiling mounted smoke detectors presents practical difficulties.

The SHIELD Alpha 2000 is ideal for applications where line of sight for the IR (infrared) detection path is narrow and where the building structure uses reflective surfaces. It has also been designed to be aesthetically pleasing and thus can equally suit modern architectural buildings as well as historical sites, particularly where ornate ceilings exist.

HEAT DETECTOR

Monitoring each sensor's average value provides a continuously shifting reference point. A software filtering process compensates for environmental factors, such as dust and dirt, and component aging, to provide an accurate reference for evaluating new activity. This filtering reduces the probability of false or nuisance alarms caused by shifts in sensitivity, either up or down.

Fires can be devastating in many cases, causing catastrophic loss of life and property. Nuisance alarms can be a time-wasting annoyance at best, and both costly and dangerous at worst. Simplex True Alarm sensors have the performance and versatility to deliver fast, accurate fire detection and virtually eliminate false alarms.

MULTI DETECTOR

Multi-Criteria Fire/CO Detector

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

TR-PHOTO-T-W - TRIGA /TR-FIRE-CO-W and TR-FIRE-CO-IV are plug-in addressable devices that provide both fire and carbon monoxide (CO) detection. The detector combines four separate sensing elements to sense multiple components of a fire: smoke, CO, light/flame, and heat. This approach enables enhanced sensitivity to real fire with heightened immunity to nuisance particulates. For CO, the detector’s electrochemical sensing cell creates a separate signal for life safety CO detection.

Multiple sensors and communication can greatly reduce nuisance alarms compared to single sensing methods. Sophisticated algorithms maximize the advantages of all four sensor types creating our best detection strategy offering heightened immunity to nuisance particulate and enhanced sensitivity to real fire.

·        Photoelectric sensors detect airborne particles associated with smoke.

·        Thermal sensors detect heat and rate-of-rise (135°F fixed temperature threshold).

·        Infrared sensors discern light patterns in the environment as an additional data point for alarm determination.

This ability to reject certain nuisance alarm triggers, such as theater smoke, supports the use of the fire/CO detector in applications where moderate to heavy nuisance conditions exist that might cause single sensing detectors to false alarm.

Meets UL 268 7th edition and UL 521 listing requirements for fire detection and UL 2075 standard for system-connected life safety carbon monoxide detection.

Released through the incomplete burning of various fuels, CO is a colorless, odorless and deadly gas that is virtually impossible to detect with the human senses. Because the
potential exists for dangerous levels of CO to accumulate in almost any building, legislation mandating the use of CO detection in commercial spaces continues to grow.

TR-B200S series intelligent sounder bases are recommended for use with TR-FIRE-CO-W and TR-FIRE-CO-IV. These bases can generate either a Temp 3 pattern for fire or a Temp 4 pattern for CO alarm indication. The TR-B200S series bases recognize the Triga synchronization protocol for use as a component of the general evacuation signal – along with other Triga Audible/Visible devices – when connected to a power supply or Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) output capable of generating the System Sensor synchronization pulses.

HORN WITH STROBE

The S-C8056 / S-C7056 Horn Strobes and S-C8057 / S-C7057 Strobes are a family of multi-candela visual and audible signal appliances with light sources generated from white LED, listed according to UL 1638 and UL 464 (10th Edition) for indoor use. The LED light source offers superior performance, including low power consumption and long operating life. Six levels of light output are selectable. Figure 1 shows relative light outputs in horizontal and vertical dispersion from strobes mounted on walls/ceilings.

The strobe appliances produce a flash rate of one flash per second over the Regulated Voltage Range. The temporal tone generated by the horn portion is designed as per ANSI and NFPA72 for standard emergency evacuation signaling requirement.

The appliance has the feature that can synchronize multiple horn and/or strobes in a complete fire alarm system
